The History of Featonby’s!
Since 1923, Featonby’s Auctioneers has served as the North East’s premier auction house, serving Whitley Bay, North Shields, Newcastle upon Tyne, South Tyneside and beyond. Now, with our online bidding system, you can place bids on our lots from anywhere in the world with the click of a button – from the USA to Asia.
On Thursday each week, we put a range of lots under the hammer, ranging from vintage home furniture and ornaments to designer clothing and instruments. And, throughout the year, Featonby’s also plays host to special auctions focused on antiques and collectibles – offering a selection of specially curated lots to be sold at auction.

Featonby’s North East Auctioneers & Valuers is an established family business founded in the 1920s by ‘Charlie’ Featonby, succeeded by his son Frank Featonby and grandson David Featonby. Originally located at Whitley Bay, near Newcastle, but now situated in North Shields, Tyne and Wear, our antique auction house is now under new ownership, but continues to maintain the core values of the Featonby family.
